Lionel Cavin

Lionel Cavin

Born in 1968, Lionel Cavin conducted biological studies in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, and a PhD in palaeontology at the University Paris VI (1997) on fish fossils from the Cretaceous of Morocco and the evolution of Jurassic fish faunas upper Paleocene. He then conducted a post-doc at the dinosaur museum in Espéraza in France, and then taught at the University of Mahasarakham Thailand. He carried on with a second post-doc at the Natural History Museum in London. He collaborated in various projects, such as palaeontological research led on the route of a highway in the Swiss Jura. Since 2006, he has worked at the Museum of Geneva, where he manages the geology and paleontology collections, participates in the creation of temporary and permanent exhibitions and continues his research.
