Jean-Jacques Royer

Dr. Royer is currently a Senior Research Engineer at GoCad Consortium and Geodynamics Group, a part of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), which is the largest governmental research organization in France. Jean-Jacques' areas of interest include dynamic and static numerical modeling of reservoirs and characterization of reservoir property using micro seismicity and hydraulic fracturing. Previously, Jean-Jacques was a professor and Head of the Petroleum Geoscience Department at Ecole Nationale Superieure de Geologie (ENSMN) in France, supervising Ph.D. and Master-level students, and also providing international training for multiple oil and gas companies around the world. Dr. Royer has also worked for multiple oil and gas companies conducting research in seismic and 3D/4D modeling. He has co-chaired and co-organized many international conferences and workshops, including participating as a Scientific Expert for the French Oil and Gas Commission. Dr. Royer has written a plethora of papers, contributed to many books, and holds 16 patents. He earned a degree as Ingenieur Civil des Mines de Nancy from ENSMN and 2nd and 1st class degrees from CNRS.
