Deepak M Kalaskar

Dr Deepak M. Kalaskar is Lecturer in Cellular Engineering at Division of Surgery & Interventional Science, and the Centre for Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine, University College London (UCL). He is also deputy director of postgraduate course in Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at UCL. He is Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA), UK, and actively involved in teaching and research in the areas of Biomaterials and tissue engineering. He is professional Member of Society of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IMO3), and UK, European Society of Biomaterials. He is part of working group for development of 3D printing platform for medical devices and redistributed manufacturing using 3D (RDM-3D) printing established by Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). He is a reviewer for several internationally reputed journals and editorial board member for Journal of Stem cells and Translational Investigation, in 3D tissue engineering. His research focusses on using additive manufacturing technology for making artificial organs such as synthetic nose, ear, skin, bone & tendon tissue engineering. He has published several papers in area of 3D organs regenerations and nanotechnology which include invited articles in internationally reputed journals. He has published one book on Nanomedicine (2015) and contributed several invited book chapters in biomaterials and organs tissue engineering.
